@natale_realtors They last sold real estate when? I have a lot of respect for long-time veterans of the local real estate market here at the Shore. A lot of respect. I fundamentally disagree that a broker, leader, mentor or trainer can properly do so without being currently involved in the market though. It’s why so many agents fail. So many leaders in real estate step away from the sales part. They try to relate it to this time or another time, however every phase of a real estate cycle looks similar but the conversations and issues are completely different. Generations of buyers or sellers are different from twenty years ago. Leaders need to be leaders. I understand running a business, office or team is a time-consuming venture, however it is imperative that they are still involved in real estate. The market almost seemingly changes by the week right now. That leader needs to be ingrained with what is going on. Here’s an example within a related part of the real estate industry. Anyone can regurgitate Bigger Pockets information on how to invest in real estate, does that mean you would follow their lead on it if they’ve never actually done it? Experience matters heavily, however the leader of a group should be the one bringing the issues at hand to their team and working together towards solutions. I cringe every time I see a broker, broker manager, office manager, whatever one would want to be called, talking about “the market.” Rah rah BS typically surrounds it, “when I sold homes, the prices were only this.., when I sold homes, interest rates were 15%…,” and on it goes. It’s not the same and shouldn’t be viewed as such. Let’s get real. A leader should be involved to a certain degree in real estate to best lead their company, office or team. If you’re looking to get into real estate or grow your business with a broker who cares about your success, don’t hesitate to contact our team today to set up a call.
