This may be a bit biased, however, a career in real estate is one of the most rewarding you can find. There are some downsides, which I’ll highlight in the following video, however, the positives of a career in real estate far outweigh the negatives. Let’s start with unlimited income. You can make what you set out to make in real estate. If you want to make $50,000, you can go out and earn it. If you want to make $5,000,000, it’ll take time, skill, and a lot of determination, but you can do it. There’s no commission cap or income limit that you can hit. Is it 100% commission with no guarantee of any money? Yes. That’s never ideal but you have to look at the positive. The positive side of that is there is unlimited income.
From there, you get to help people make the (most likely) biggest and most emotional purchase or sale of their lifetime. You truly help people through a large stage in their life and are a big part of it. That’s a magical thing and is truly rewarding to your soul. Another positive is being able to leverage your career into finding great deals before they hit the market. You can create generational wealth from the opportunities you get from being a realtor. Lastly, you can be in control of your time. Your kid’s soccer game is the most important thing for you to be at, you can be there. If you want to be at your niece’s graduation on Tuesday afternoon, you can be there. There’s no boss or a 9-5 in real estate. This control of time can be a bit misleading early in your career and also be listed as a negative since you do work for your clients and you do go off their schedule. I’ve found in a post-Covid, WFH-environment, people are much more flexible nowadays.
