@natale_realtors Sellers are watching you. Should they have to disclose? There’s no doubt it’s happening. Sellers are almost definitely watching every move buyers make in their home. This comes to a surprise to people sometimes. It really shouldn’t though. We make our clients aware of it before we even step foot into the first home. We also know sellers may go back and watch our consultation after the fact on their security cameras. Security cameras are too cheap and easy to install for the majority of people to no longer have them, especially if they are about to let a whole bunch of strangers walk through their home. Our question is this: Should it have to be disclosed on the listing? Or is just the responsibility of agents to best prepare the buyers? Should there be a spot where an agent has it on the listing form when they are showing the property that designates whether or not the seller has security cameras? Here’s why it could be an issue. Fair housing. If sellers are watching the buyers, what they look like, what they’re saying, could that affect their decision in who to sell the house to? It certainly could. We’re all human. It’s a different way to look at the issue, however I think it’s an important conversation to have as technology expands in the smart home space. #smarthome #hometech #realestate #buyingahouse #realtor ♬ original sound – Natale Realtors
